Out of the box

  • The post type is inferred: one video is a Reel, one image is an image post, several items are a carousel.
  • A Story goes out only when you ask for one: one photo, or one video of 3 to 60 seconds. Stories show no caption.
  • Reels are shared to the feed.
  • PNG and WebP images are converted to JPEG for you.

Things you can ask for

Say it in the message. Your assistant sets it for you.

Option names for developers
Reel, photo, carousel or Story
One video becomes a Reel, one photo a post, several items a carousel. Ask for a Story and it goes to your Story, without a caption.

Reels appear in your feed too, unless you ask for Reels only.
Cover image
Upload an image and ask for it to be the Reel’s cover, or name the moment of the video to use.
Collaborators
Invite up to 3 accounts to share a post or Reel with you.
Tag people
Say who is in the photo and your assistant tags them.
Location
Add where it was taken to a post or Reel.
Alt text
Describe each photo for people who use screen readers.
Trial Reels
Show a Reel to people who don’t follow you first, and to your followers later.
Audio name
Give the original sound of a Reel a name.

Numbers you’ll see

After a post goes live, its numbers show up in Results, with the reason when a network keeps one to itself.

Likes and comments on each post, and your follower count. Views, reach, saves and Story views need a permission Instagram hasn’t given Welder yet.
